I recently bought a home that needed renovations, including a new front door. When choosing the color of the door I Googled all kinds of color options and I found some pretty interesting facts about RED front doors:
An early American tradition a door painted red was a sign for tired travelers that the home was a safe place and welcoming to rest and have a bite to eat. In the years before the Civil war, some homeowners painted their front doors red to welcome passengers on the Underground Railroad.
Red color is considered a lucky color by the Chinese. Many doors are painted red just before Chinese New Year to invite good luck and happiness.
